Welcome to the Seminar Book Blog!

Thank you for visiting our Seminar Book Blog.  I've always had the dream of having a book club here at GSMS.  However, until we got this new schedule, we never had the time.  Now, with this blog and the enrichment period, I hope we can find some time to meet and talk about books!
After accosting Ms.M. for ideas in the hallway, she came up with the great idea that we could read a classic novel.  After speaking to some of you, you concurred. The classics have, for various reasons, been eliminated from our current curriculum.  Though we read excerpts from many "great" authors, it is not the same as reading the entire novel.  (Dicken's A Christmas Carol was the last to go! Maybe this can be a future option?)
Here is my proposal for a book club:
1. Each member hosts a book.  This means that you decide what book to pick for the group.  (We would need a criteria, i.e., "school appropriate"....) Book talk the book, let us know if it is AR points, about the author, etc.
2. Each member reads the book for discussion by a certain date.
3. We all blog about the book AND set up a date for a meeting.  (We can meet on M-W-F...during enrichment for a few minutes.)
4. The person who chooses the book facilates the discussion. This member will have a list of questions that we can discuss in person or on this blog.
5.  Other guidelines can be agreed on among the group in the future.
